Domande
FRASI IN INGLESE: FARE DOMANDE
- You are happy. = Sei felice.
- Are you happy? = Sei felice?
- They are at home. = Sono a casa.
- Are they at home?
- Are you happy today? = Sei felice oggi?
- Yes, I am. = Sì, lo sono.
- Did you have fun at the party? = Ti sei divertito alla festa?
- No, I didn’t. = No, non mi sono divertito.
- Will you come to class tomorrow? = Verrai a scuola domani?)
- Yes, I will.
(2) Le domande per ricevere informazioni in inglese vengono poste usando le parole ‘what’, ‘where’, ‘when’, ‘how’, ‘why’, and ‘which’.
- Where are you from? = Da dove vieni?
- I’m from Seattle. = Vengo da Seattle.
- What did you do on Saturday evening? = Cosa avete fatto sabato sera?
- We went to see a film. = Siamo andati a vedere un film.
- Why was the class difficult? = La lezione è stata difficile?
- The class was difficult because the teacher didn’t explain things well.

Si fa uso soltanto dei pronomi interrogativi “who” e “what”.
Mary studies Spanish. > Who studies Spanish?
Mary studied Spanish. > Who studied Spanish?
They have called the police. > Who has called the police?
Her problems are none of their business. > What is none of their business?
FRASI IN INGLESE: TAG DOMANDE
Nel formare tali domande ci serviamo dei verbi ausiliari (es.: do, does, did, have, was, were, had, will).
- You live in Rome, don’t you? = Tu vivi a Roma, non è vero?
- You haven’t written the report yet, have you?
- You miss July, don’t you?
- You don’t have money, do you? = Non hai denaro, è vero?
- You are too tired, aren’t you? = Sei troppo stanco, non è vero?
- Your bakery is one of the best in this area, isn’t it?
- You don’t believe me, do you? = Non mi credi, è vero?
a) Yes. (I believe you. = Sì, ti credo.)
b) No. (I don’t believe you. = No, non ti credo.)
- It’s too cold in here, ↘ isn’t it? = Fa troppo freddo, non è vero?
- He is a lawyer, ↘isn’t he? = Lui è un avvocato, non è vero?
- Nina is really humorous, ↘ isn’t she?
- Bernardo looks better now, ↗ doesn’t he?
- The meeting starts at four, ↗doesn’t it?
- Filippo hasn’t said anything, ↗has he? = Filippo non ha detto niente, è vero?
ECCEZIONI
- I am too serious, aren’t I? = Sono troppo seria, non è vero?
2) Dopo l’imperativo, es.: “Clean… / Don’t clean… “ la domanda inizia con “will you?”:
- Send the post by nine, will you?
3) Dopo “Let’s… “ la domanda inizia con “shall we?”:
- Let’s go dancing, shall we? = Andiamo a ballare, che ne dici?
4) Talvolta le frasi sono negate con parole negative (per esempio: never, hardly, no):
- You never waste your time, do you? = Non perdi mai tempo, è vero?
- They have no clue, have they? = Non ne hanno idea, è vero?
